Transparency in Philanthropy through Web3 Technology
(Kuala Lumpur, 2 August 2025) – The Business Sustainability Symposium, organised by the One Belt One Road Certified Institute (OBORCI), was successfully held at the University of Malaya. Centered on the theme of corporate sustainability and transparency in philanthropy through Web3 technology, the event brought together representatives from government bodies, corporations, the tech sector, and non-profit organisations to explore how Web3 can enhance ESG initiatives and philanthropic transparency.

From multiple perspectives, the speakers delved into how Web3 can reshape donation tracking, enhance data transparency, and build public trust. Practical solutions were presented, such as using smart contracts for transparent donation flows and leveraging digital tools to mitigate fraud. The event sparked enthusiastic responses, with attendees engaging in meaningful networking and partnership discussions across sectors.
Dr. Kevin Ng, Chairperson of the Symposium and President of OBORCI, emphasised that the symposium was not just a platform for dialogue but a call to action—urging more corporations to integrate ESG values with technological innovation, and to play a proactive role in building a transparent and trustworthy philanthropic ecosystem.
Looking ahead, OBORCI will continue to champion ESG and SDGs as key focus areas, while strengthening strategic collaborations with universities, research institutions, and industries. The institute remains committed to driving sustainable transformation across education, technology, philanthropy, and business—towards a more open, transparent, and impactful future for corporate sustainability.
